WRC 2026 | Full-Stack Hardware and Software, Generalizable AI: Galaxea’s “Productivity Awakens” Showcase Wraps Up Successfully!

The 2026 World Robot Conference (WRC) recently opened in Beijing, where Galaxea showcased more than ten technical demos across diverse application scenarios under the theme “Productivity Awakens.”

While many exhibitors focused on showcasing robotic motion capabilities, Galaxea centered every demonstration on real-world work. Together, these demos highlighted the company's technological foundations in full-stack hardware and software development and the generalization capabilities of its embodied AI models.

They also pointed to a broader industry shift: embodied AI is moving from laboratories into real-world industries, evolving from robots that can perform tasks to robots that can perform them reliably.

Order Online, Pick Up On-Site: The World's First Robotic Dark Store Takes Live Orders

At WRC, Galaxea unveiled the world's first robotic dark store supporting online ordering and fully autonomous, end-to-end order fulfillment. The demonstration recreated a real commercial dark store at full scale, replicating its operational workflow.

Visitors could place orders through a mini-program, after which robots autonomously identified products, planned their movements, picked items, opened bags, and packed orders, completing the entire process from order placement to product handover.

Recognized as one of the most challenging applications for commercial robotics, the dark store demonstrated breakthroughs enabled by Galaxea's general-purpose embodied AI capabilities.

First, generalization across 10,000+ SKUs. Without product-specific programming, the robots could autonomously recognize and handle a vast range of product categories, even when items were randomly arranged.

Second, autonomous execution and error recovery across complex workflows. The robots could coordinate multiple consecutive tasks, detect environmental changes, respond to interruptions or execution errors, and autonomously recover to complete long-horizon operations reliably.

Third, precision manipulation of deformable objects. By addressing the unpredictable deformation of plastic bags, Galaxea overcame a major challenge in automated packing and flexible-object manipulation for real-world logistics operations.

Throughout the exhibition, the robotic dark store completed 900 end-to-end orders, 1,775 picking operations, and 1,560 packing operations, demonstrating system stability through continuous, real-world operation.

The system has established the foundational capabilities required for reliable operation in commercial environments. Rather than simply memorizing every possible answer, the robots have learned how to adapt to change.

Millimeter-Level Precision: World's First Robot-Assembling-Robot Demo Unveiled

Beyond the robotic dark store, Galaxea showcased what it described as the world's first robot-assembling-robot demonstration, addressing one of the most demanding challenges in industrial automation.

The robot independently performed a high-precision, long-horizon assembly task involving centimeter-scale screw insertion and automated fastening.

It first identified and grasped small screws among complex components, precisely inserted them into narrow holes, then switched to an automated fastening tool to align with the hole, adjust its orientation, apply consistent pressure, and complete the fastening process.

The entire workflow required the coordinated execution of visual localization, dual-arm manipulation, force-controlled contact, and motion planning.

By combining reinforcement learning with embodied foundation models, Galaxea pushed beyond the performance limits of conventional human demonstrations, achieving more than a 30% improvement in task execution speed.

The significance of this breakthrough extends beyond performing a single precise movement. It demonstrates the robot's potential to handle the precision, long-horizon execution, and stability required for real-world industrial production.

This represents a critical step in bringing robotic manipulation from laboratory demonstrations into practical industrial deployment.

NEXO Unveiled: A Next-Generation Wheeled Dual-Arm Robot Built for Productivity

During WRC, Galaxea officially introduced NEXO, its next-generation flagship wheeled dual-arm humanoid robot, designed as a powerful, general-purpose platform for real-world productivity.

NEXO features 30 degrees of freedom (DOF) across its dual arms, shoulders, neck, waist, torso, and mobile base. Through coordinated force and position control, its joints operate in real time to ensure smooth, continuous movements and balanced force distribution during complex, long-horizon manipulation tasks.

With a combined dual-arm payload capacity of up to 20 kg, NEXO combines precision manipulation with stable heavy-payload handling, supporting a wide range of industrial and commercial applications.

Its eight-hour battery life and agile mobile base enable navigation through confined spaces, allowing the robot to adapt to diverse environments.

From precision assembly in consumer electronics to industrial material handling, and from warehouse logistics to commercial services, NEXO is designed to support multiple productivity applications on a single platform.

Rather than serving as a single-purpose machine, NEXO represents Galaxea's vision of a versatile robotic productivity platform built for real-world industries.

A Multi-Scenario Demo Lineup: Putting Industrial-Grade Capabilities to the Test

Beyond the three major showcases, Galaxea presented more than ten technical demos, including bipedal robot parkour, continuous folding of highly elastic cardboard boxes, arbitrary-object tabletop pick-and-place, and industrial component sorting.

What these demonstrations shared was the introduction of real-world uncertainty, including positional shifts, randomized object orientations, and human-induced disturbances.

By incorporating these variables, Galaxea recreated the unpredictable conditions robots encounter in actual working environments.

In the continuous cardboard-box folding demonstration, for example, the robot could complete 4,000 box-folding operations per day at the exhibition while maintaining stable performance under repeated disturbances.

Galaxea believes that the successful industrial deployment of embodied AI depends on a robot's ability to autonomously recover from errors and adjust its strategies when faced with unexpected changes.

These seemingly routine tasks are, in fact, continuous tests of system robustness.

A successful demonstration is only the beginning. Real productivity requires robots that can handle the unexpected.

Brand Strategy Unveiled: An Embodied AI Platform for the Next Generation of Productivity

During the exhibition, Galaxea Founder and CEO Gao Jiyang officially introduced the company's “1+3+N” brand strategy for next-generation productivity.

He explained that Galaxea will continue building on its core approach of “Robotics + Intelligence,” connecting AI foundation models, a comprehensive portfolio of robotic platforms, and a broad industrial ecosystem to accelerate the large-scale deployment of embodied AI.

At this year's WRC, Galaxea presented what it described as the largest exhibition booth in the embodied AI sector, offering a comprehensive view of robotic technologies designed around one central objective: getting real work done.

From robotic dark stores to precision assembly, and from new product launches to ecosystem strategy, every demonstration reinforced the same message: robots are evolving from programmed machines into intelligent systems capable of reasoning, and from exhibition showcases into deployable productivity solutions.

“Productivity Awakens” may not describe a sudden revolution. Instead, it represents the accumulation of countless moments when a robot independently finds a solution—whether facing a cluttered shelf, a tiny screw, or an unfamiliar task.

Through these real-world demonstrations, Galaxea delivered a clear message to the industry:

The next chapter of embodied AI will not be defined by how well robots perform on stage, but by how reliably they get real work done.
